If you were still confused as to why Dion Phaneuf was snubbed from the Olympic team, last night's performance against the Blue Jackets should give you a little insight. Phaneuf was pretty brutal in general all game but especially on the first goal by Columbus. Then again, a loss to Columbus at home is the reward I get for beaking the whole city for the pre-game.

Columbus has some pretty interesting history if you actually take a look at the franchise, especially during their first NHL entry draft:

The San Jose Sharks traded
Jan Caloun, a ninth-round pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, and a 2001 conditional pick to Columbus; in return, the Blue Jackets agreed not to select the Sharks' unprotected goaltender Evgeni Nabokov.

Makes you think what could have been?

Tonight the Flames are in Vancouver to take on the Canucks who have not lost in the new year beating Dallas, Columbus, and Phoenix. Remember that cushion on Vancouver at the start of the season? Not anymore, as the Canucks are now tops in the division due to wins (27 to 25). So because this game is important and on national TV Calgary will probably lose, lets just hope its not too ugly.

Flames Cat will try and prove me wrong.
