The LA Kings are first in the west. If you called this, you're only lying to yourself. The Kings are the talk of the town and for good reason. They have solid scoring, decent defense, and great goaltending (see what I did there?). After going through goaltenders like LaBarbera and Cloutier the monarchs finally seem to have their man in net, as Jon Quick is 20-10-3 with a save% of over .900 which ain't bad in this day and age.

Otherwise there's not much to say about these guys that hasn't been mentioned before. So what I'll do is post a Pensblog season preview for the Kings a couple years ago. I recommend you read every word that is written as it is absolutely hilarious.
Feel free to file this one under "T", for "teams we usually beat up but aren't be surprised when we don't". Seems like bizarro Flames are coming out lately as we can somehow beat San Jose and Detroit, both in their buildings, but we still roll over and lose to teams like the Wild and Blues. Calgary is still two points out of first place in the division but has three games in hand on the mighty Avalanche.
